Film watchmap

Some people have a map where they mark all the countries they visited. Other folks keep a list of the movies they’ve seen. I decided to combine the two and create a map of all countries I’ve seen a movie or TV show from.

I decided to only add films that were produced in a certain country, and not necessary take place there. For example, Emily in Paris (which I haven’t watched and don’t plan to btw. 😁) wouldn’t count as a French TV show, but a US one.

I’m aware that maps are political. How each country and its borders are represented on the map doesn’t necessarily reflect my personal view or political opinion.

The main source for the border shapes was the georgique/world-geojson GitHub repo, but also 99Boundaries in some cases (with some help of mapshaper to reduce the file size for the latter source).
